Scenic Shot

This picture was taken at Worth Ranch, a Boy Scout Summer camp on the Brazo River.

The top picture at the link shows the amphitheater where the open and closing ceremonies for summer camp were held.

In 2005, the closing ceremonies were held at sunset. I can't remember if the other adult leader Gary got this shot or I did. We both were trying for it, but one image came out slightly better so I cropped it down to what you see.

I think the colors are fantastic and makes a vivid contrast with the emblem.

I used it as a desktop on several computers, hope you enjoy it.

Update -- Here is wide view of the amphitheater at Worth Ranch. I've determined that the photograph was taken Gary. He deserves the credit for an awesome picture.

As some people can see, there is no Stars and Stripes in the shot.

Tune into tomorrow for pictures of the garrison flag requested by Weer'd

Isn't that a bit unpatriotic? Shouldn't the Stars and Stripes be more prominent than the Lone Star flag?

By the way, congratulations on the success of your blog. It didn't take long for you to become a real presence among the pro-gun blogs.

Thanks MikeB,

I'm not sure what you are talking about here. There is an Eagle emblem and the state flag emblem.

I don't see Stars & Stripes. Don't forget the Scouts use the Eagle as a symbol, it is Scouting highest rank.

Great shot!

If anybody was unsure you were from Texas you just removed all doubt!

Also kinda funny how Trollsby likes to take offense to your presentation of the flag, when he spends much of his time bragging about LEAVING America (weather that's true or not)

Of course dickhead didn't follow the link and see that GREAT shot of the scouts folding the garrison flag. That shot really yanked my heartstrings. I'd love to see what that great-big-Stars-and-Bars looks like flying up the (presumably) monster staff!

Weer'd,

You asked and I'll deliver. I've got a couple of shots of the garrison flag flying, a couple of shots of them working to take it down.

It is very impressive.

The pics are on my home computer, let me see what I can do tonight or tomorrow.

MikeB,

Why don't you explain what you are talking about?

Isn't that a bit unpatriotic? Shouldn't the Stars and Stripes be more prominent than the Lone Star flag?

It means exactly what it says, Bob. Why must you continually read more into what I say than is there?

MikeB,

I'm not reading into it more then there is, I'm just confused as all heck.

I'm trying to figure out where you found a Stars and Stripes in the original image.

I'm not making this a big deal, just wondering what you are seeing that I'm not
