Store Clerk Murdered; Customers Keep Shopping

A 26-year-old convenience store clerk was shot and killed in broad daylight in Gary, Ind., and police say witnesses stood by and did nothing. CBS 2's Pamela Jones reports there are critical clues that may help crack the case.Jumping Josaphat ! People watched it happened and most didn't call the police, didn't try to help the clerk.
Police say one of the four men caught on surveillance video bursting into the clerk's booth at the convenience store was about to commit murder. The video shows a man in red run up an aisle and kick in the door to the booth. Within seconds, the clerk, Gurjeet Singh, was shot in the neck...
But Titus says what's even more senseless is the apparent inaction of bystanders standing near the front door almost the whole time.
One instance isn't evidence but it certainly shows there are people out there that don't want to help themselves, don't want to help their neighbors.
Police say there were several customers walking around the store after the crime. But only one called 911 for help
To these people, I have a question...what in the world is wrong with you?
A store was robbed, a man was killed in front of you and you walk around the store!! What is wrong with your priorities, your values???
To the gun banners, those wanting stricter regulations, I have a question...is this the type of world you want to live in? A world where the criminals are allowed free reign and no one tries to stop them?
I'm sorry if my desire to protect myself, my family, to keep America a society that believes in the rule of law may upset you, but TOUGH.
This is what is really happening out there. Your efforts and the efforts of those like you are allowing people to be murdered in cold blood and the people who see it are being taught to do NOTHING. Call the police, give them what you want....this man, Mr. Gurjeet Singh, didn't have a chance. They wanted to kill him and they did. They wanted to rob the place and they did.
Probably nothing the shoppers could have done would have stopped the murder, but at least they could have tried to stop them from getting away. This is sickening, it is a sad commentary on our society that the shoppers didn't immediately try to take the criminals down. It is disgusting that you gun banners want to allow more of this to happen.

If Indiana were a living organism, Gary would be its anus.
It's basically a low-rent suburb of Chicago.
This doesn't surprise me one bit.
BTW: I was born and raised in the Corn fields of Central Indiana...about 2.5 hours drive from Gary.
Bob, The gun banners don't want more of this to happen. Why would you say such a ridiculous thing? The gun-control people want less of this to happen, just like you do. We just differ on how's the best way to get there.
MikeB,
Gun banners want to take away law abiding citizens' right to keep and bear arms...under the guise of protecting us.
The store owner protected himself and the police came later to take the report.
Even if the gun banners had the best of intentions; all you've done is changed the weapon. You do nothing to address the reason WHY that scum tried to attack and rob the store owner. If someone killed with a knife, a tire iron, a rock; are they morally superior in their death to someone shot?
Show me how any of the gun control laws would STOP the crime. Not stop the crime with a firearm, but stop the crime!!
Why would you say such a ridiculous thing?
It's not ridiculous. It's true. If you didn't want things like that to happen you wouldn't constantly be trying to make it more difficult for people to defend themselves.
